Shakha literally means ‘branch’ in Sanskrit. People from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds attend these weekly ‘Shakhas’. Shakha is an established tool (tantra) which enables us achieving our vison and mission.  The first Shakhs in New Zealand was started in 1996 in Auckland. Currently we have 16 Shakhas (chapters / branches) in 8 cities across both the North and South islands.

Shakha participation develops transferable skills for professional and personal lives: discipline, integrity, ethics, teamwork, punctuality, confidence, public speaking, leadership, assertiveness and social networking. It is a forum where children, youth and adults come together to undertake physical (sharirak) and intellectual (baudhik)  activities in a fun filled and spiritual environment. Each Shakha is run by selfless volunteer karyakartas (workers).

Typically Shakhas run Saturday or Sunday evenings. However, the local teams may choose anytime as suits them.  Below is the Shakha list and our contact details.
