Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh New Zealand (HSS NZ) is a voluntary, non-profit, social, educational and cultural registered charity organisation.

We envision fostering global peace and harmony by practicing, preserving, and promoting the eternal universal ideals and values of Hindu Dharma. We encourage maintaining Hindu cultural identity in harmony and integration with the Aotearoa New Zealand society.

We conduct regular value-based education programs for all ages through its branches (Shakha) across the nation. We also conduct special events and programs throughout the year. Some of the examples include service activities, blood donation drives, tree plantation, river and beach cleaning, temple service, picnics, competitions, leadership training camps, and engagement with the wider community.

Our weekly Shakha (programs) consists of mainly two types of activities: Sharirak (Physical) and Baudhik (Intellectual). Physical activities include Khel (games), Yoga, Surya Namaskars, and Self-defence which enhance stamina, physical strength, discipline and agility. The intellectual activities made up of Skits, puzzles, debates, workshops, presentations, and quizzes are designed to polish communication skills, and cultural and societal awareness.

Through our activities and projects, we promote pride in Hindu heritage, discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, and the spirit of selfless service to foster a sense of civic duty, responsibility and volunteerism. All these activities are organised by our volunteers who step up to learn and practice their organisational skills.
Our Vision: Word Peace through Dharma
Our Mission: To organize a diverse, productive and vibrant Hindu Kiwi diaspora that can collectively identify and address its challenges, contribute towards the progress of beautiful Aotearoa New Zealand and the world.
